NOTD: Green Sponged Swoop (+ Konad & Matte-ified)

Well, it started out supposed to be a swoop at least ... I've been seeing swoop designs on other blogs, in my head it combined with the urge to do some sponging with 3 different colors, but on the nail I didn't have much of a curvy swoop to my lines, they're more plain diagonals.  I still like the way it turned out though; I used 3 colors from Wet 'n' Wild, Jade (lighter green), Morbid (darker green), & Shield (metallic tip):

(Although I used more colors, this is the same basic technique as I used in THIS Purple Sponged Gradient tutorial.)

Then I decided to change it up for the next day, so I stamped it with White Konad Special Polish & image plate m64:

Then I added a coat of Matte Magic & this is how it turned out:

I wasn't sure what I thought at first, but it grew on me, it was really different from anything I normally wear.  You know, with St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I think this could be a fun mani, either version, for that holiday.  Hmmm, I'll have to do some more green designs.  I have to admit it appeals to me more than pink for Valentines Day did LOL.

Thanks for reading =)

NOTD: Zoya Pasha

When my Zoya order came, I was torn which one to wear first ... they're all so pretty!  But eventually I settled on Pasha. Nice, neutral, perfect background for some Konad ...

But then ... man, for some reason my Color Club Black was giving me ATTITUDE!  I mean, normally it is my go-to polish for black Konad when I don't want to use the special polish, because it is much less streaky.  But for some reason it was just drying so super quick, it didn't want to come off the stamper, I was ready to pull my hair out.  But I managed to squeeze a somewhat decent koni out of it somehow, using image plate m66:

Kind of out of character for me, with every single nail different, but fun for a day (I wore this on Tuesday).  This particular plate seems to always want me to use as many of it's patterns as possible LOL.  Thanks for reading.

Mini-Haul: Zoya

Most of you (hopefully) heard about the sale that Zoya had in honor of NYFW, and I just couldn't resist.  I don't know if I can still count myself on a no-buy after this LOL, but I think I showed admirable restraint.  I bought 3 bottles - I really only needed to get 2 to take advantage of the promo - and got 2 bottles free.  I chose:

(Top row is the natural lamp, bottom is with camera flash)  Left to right:  Savita, Zara, Ibiza, Freja, Pasha.   Zoya has pretty quick shipping, I placed this order last Thursday & it was waiting for me when I got home Monday.  I've already used 1 of these & will be posting that NOTD later tonight =)

Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: ChG Side-Saddle

Tee came over on ... hmmm I think Monday night?  & we redid her mani.  She just wanted something on the plain side this time, a dark color, and we settled on China Glaze Side-Saddle, from the Rodeo Diva collection.  This color has a TON of shimmer close up:

So lucky I have friends & family to help me wade through my ocean of unworn polish LOL =)  Thanks for reading.

NOTD: CC Groove Thang

Apologies, I usually try to take a pic of just the color pre-nail art but as I am a total spazz approximately 65% of the time I forget occasionally =)  Like apparently Sunday night, when I did this NOTD to wear Monday.

Base color is Color Club Groove Thang, from the Dance to the Musique collection.  For the Konad I used image plate m57, and special polish in White & Psyche Pink.  This was my frist try using more than one color to stamp with ... I wasn't super thrilled with my results, but I got a lot of compliments so I think I'm maybe being too picky LOL:

Kind of cherry blossom-ish?  Not that I've ever seen a real cherry blossom in my life LOL, just kind of has that vibe to me for some reason.

Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: Blue & Grey Water Marble

One more post before bed - here is my mom's birthday mani =)  I used Misa Right Here Now, No More Later, and Misa Dying Love for this look, and followed the same marbling technique as in THIS Shades of Green tutorial.  Mom was a very good "client" since she's watched all my tutorials (Unlike Tee LOL!) and it was fun because normally she does her own nails, this was the first time I ever gave her a mani.  And it's  pure AWESOMENESS:

She picked the colors because she was inspired by the stark black tree branches in winter against the blue sky.  While we were out & about we passed this tree & she said "Yeah, just like that!" so I snapped a quick pic:

She's still got it on with no chips!  She is taking extra special care LOL, she's enjoying it so much =)  Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: Black & Red Water Marble

I'm sooo late posting this up, I have to apologize!  I did this for Tee last Thursday (we actually just changed it tonight) but I've just been so behind.  Colors used are both Maybelline, Onyx Rush & Berry Persistent (please excuse the half-assed clean-up LOL):

I used the same marbling technique as I show in THIS Shades of Purple Marble Tutorial.  Thanks for reading!

Taping Tutorial

I got a request for this, so here's just a quick tutorial of how to prep your nails with tape for water marbling:

Figured I better post it here too, for my followers who do not subscribe on YouTube =)  Thanks for watching.

NOTD: CC Worth The Risque

I don't know how it took me this long to wear this color, I know I've had it since at least summer if not last spring. I think I took enough pics that they can speak for themselves.  From the Femme Fatale collection, this is Color Club Worth the Risque:

Thanks for reading.
