NOTD: St. Patrick's Day Water Marble + Tutorial

Well, with the posting of this I am now current with my own NOTDs, although I have a couple of guest pics to edit & post.  Tomorrow is Friday & I hope to have time this weekend for comments ... well, I know you've heard that before but I'm serious this time!  I will be caught up with all my comments by Monday.  I'm going to force myself LOL, no matter what else comes up.

On to the marbling.  My base color for this was Sally Hanson White On, and then I used White On, SH Emerald City & SH Glow for the marbling.  I was going to use a gold but none of the ones I tried were cooperating with the greens in the cup.  Trial & error are always part of a water marble.

Every water marble I have a few favorite nails ... this time it is my right pinky, for the design that's placed exactly how I wanted, then my left thumb because the white showed up so well, and strangely enough my left index for the opposite reason, because it has the most of the darker green =)  But overall, I think all the nails ended up with good designs, all different of course but flowing with each other:

Here's the tutorial:

Thanks for reading =)

  17. EVERYONE - Thank you so much! I seem to get a great response for my marbles so I've really been trying to do videos unless I have a good reason not to =) Every one is different & learning experience for me.

CAH-NOSSOVICIO - From start to finish a full water marble manicure takes me around an hour

AYUU - there are so many factors, if the water is filtered & room temp, it may be the polish color.

BROOKE - OMG that dissolving styrofoam video you posted had me watching with my jaw dropped! It's only pure luck that I had paper my first time LOL.

RIJAH - I always use LOTS of paper towels around my work area LOL. As long as you plan ahead it's not too bad =)

  19. *O*

    Wowww so pretty!!!
And the tutorial is great, it's better than lots of the ones I've seen. I may try this in the summer, when I have the extra hours that it will undoubtedly take me to do this. smh!

Small question though, and sorry if it's stupid, but do you recreate the pattern in the bowl for every nail you do? Thanks in advance!

  20. VIBRANT V - Thank you =)

ANONYMOUS - You can dip more than one nail at a time, but usually I just do one because then it's easier to get the best part of the design =)

  23. Hi, I love your videos with nails. :-) It's still trying but I still have the same result as you. :-( Maybe I am wrong nail polish. Otherwise, it can not explain. My nail polish do not want to dissolve. You have a special nail polish? Or just not with everyone? Thank you for your reply. Stana

  24. STANA - Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
