NOTD: Formula X for Sephora Atom + Eve

I was going to do something fancier for my company holiday party, but I ended up running a bit short on time & so I just went with a red glitter - because that's always a great Christmas choice =)  This is Formula X for Sephora Atom + Eve:

This was also I think the only time I can remember having a polish on at the same time as my mom - she chose it for her church choice holiday concert - looks a bit different on her short nails  but obviously still a gorgeous color:

Guest NOTD: Revlon Blue Lagoon

I think that at the time, Mom was looking for a light sky blue and she got this because it was still out from the pastel rainbow marble.  Revlon Blue Lagoon is a little lighter than I would consider a true sky blue, with just a hint of sparkle which is actually easier to see in the shade picture:

Guest NOTD: Orly Royal Velvet

Not much to say for this one - just Mom wearing Orly Royal Velvet:

You can see the original post on my nails HERE, there are some shots that show the duo-chrome to a bit better effect, but that's just because it's easier to take picture of my own nails - the duo-chrome was definitely still visible on short nails =)

Guest NOTD: China Glaze Smoke & Ashes (+ Sponged Glitter Tips)

Mom is also a Hunger Games fan - so of course she wanted to try some of the colors I had from the Hunger Games collection =) These pictures don't quite do justice to the hidden teal shimmer, but here she is with China Glaze Smoke & Ashes:

I think this is probably the darkest color she's ever worn on it's own.  After a few days she covered up the tip wear by sponging with ... something.  Probably China Glaze Dorothy Who? although I could be wrong LOL - but it was a blue glitter & it was pretty awesome:

Guest NOTD: Gold, Green & Black Water Marble + Tutorial

When I do water marbles for mom, she picks the colors, and then I find the polishes in close colors & give her a few sample designs to choose from.  This particular color combination was inspired by a wall hanging that you can see in a one of the pictures below.  Base color is Sally Hansen Salon Tassel, marbling done with Tassel, China Glaze Peace on Earth & Orly Liquid Vinyl:

Here are a few of my favorite nails - even short nails can fit plenty of marble-y goodness:

And I found a couple of these shots while editing pics, really shows the difference between me & Mom LOL!  She could maybe barely fit one of the four leaf clovers on her thumb:

And of course here's the tutorial:

Guest NOTD: Orly Sea Gurl

I am 99.5% sure that I've correctly identified this manicure of my mom's as Orly Sea Gurl from their Birds of a Feather collection - it's in my "backlogged pictures" pile/box, looks right, and rings a bell.  But I have that 0.5% of doubt LOL.

I'd like to wear this myself & I have a vague memory of purchasing it with something complimentary that I wanted to marble with but I couldn't tell you what off the top of my head.  Oh well - here is Sea Gurl, what I think I would describe as a slightly metallic deep taupe:

More posts to come ... maybe eventually even some posted during normal daylight hours!

Guest NOTD: Orly Wandering Vine (?) + China Glaze Oxidized Aqua

I have a pretty good memory for my own manicures - I am not quite so good with what my mom has worn LOL, and that's why the question mark disclaimer.  But I have this (rather large) box of all the polishes I have pictures to edit for, and these were in there so I'm pretty sure I've ID'd this combination correctly - a base color of Orly Wandering Vine topped with China Glaze Oxidized Aqua:

More (much more!) to come =)

Guest NOTD: Butter London Wallis

Just a quick post of Mom's nails - she wanted to wear Butter London  Wallis just about as soon as I bought it, and when I wore it (original post HERE) she was reminded, and finally got around to it a few months ago:

I am trying to "force" myself to post more than just on the weekends - not that posting is a chore, just that it can be tricky to fit it in.  So if I catch myself just sitting, during a commercial or something, I give myself a mental kick to go edit pictures or do something constructive =)  Not that there's anything wrong with  zoning out or relaxing but I have way too many little things that need catching up to waste time on a daily basis LOL

Guest NOTD: Black + China Glaze Haute Metal

I don't remember what exact black Mom used for the base of this - I guess it doesn't matter that much, since the star of the show was China Glaze Haute Metal from their metallic Crackle Glaze collection:

More to come tonight =)  Thanks for reading!

Guest NOTD: Mom's Gold & Black

I wasn't quite sure what to call this design - it's something like a Ruffian, but with the color extending up the sides.  I've seen a stripe down the middle called a Lubu (especially when the stripe is red) but there's usually more color on the sides.  At any rate, mom was inspired by an episode of the Project Runway All Stars - if you watch, the episode where they have to find their muse in the park?  Austin's muse had something similar to this on her nails.

The base black is Finger Paints Black Expressionism.  The gold is China Glaze - but I'm so sorry, I don't remember if it's Passion or 2030!  I usually think I'll just naturally remember the exact polish -  well apparently not after 2 months LOL:

She did this herself & was very very pleased with the final look =)  I was happy that she was happy & stepping a bit out of her plain-manicured box.

Guest NOTD: Sally Hansen 3K or More! + OPI Red Shatter

This almost looks like it's a crackle over a natural nail, but my mom used Sally Hansen 3K or More! as a base & then put OPI Red Shatter over top:

She doesn't wear red or very many bright colors so this was a nice change for her =)

Guest NOTD: Color Club Gossip Column + Finger Paints Motley

I'm finding a few things I'd completely forgotten that I even took pictures of LOL, and this is one of those.  Mom saw Color Club Gossip Column somewhere, in an old post or something I think, and requested it, then added layer of Finger Paints Motley on top for some subtle shimmer:

I think this combination would have looked awesome matte too -just about anything with flakies does after all =)

Guest NOTD: Nubar Peacock Feathers

Mom was in love - not hard to see why =)  This is somewhat of an oldie but always a goodie, Nubar Peacock Feathers:

I have absolutely no plans this weekend other than sleeping & playing post catch up =)  As those of you who follow me on YouTube know, I'm turning March into a theme month so I really need to get my but in gear so I can include pictures with my tutorials LOL.

Thanks for reading.
