Just a quick post of Mom's nails - she wanted to wear Butter London Wallis just about as soon as I bought it, and when I wore it (original post HERE) she was reminded, and finally got around to it a few months ago:
I am trying to "force" myself to post more than just on the weekends - not that posting is a chore, just that it can be tricky to fit it in. So if I catch myself just sitting, during a commercial or something, I give myself a mental kick to go edit pictures or do something constructive =) Not that there's anything wrong with zoning out or relaxing but I have way too many little things that need catching up to waste time on a daily basis LOL
I was excited to receive these colors from a Butter London product rep:
Here's a closer look at the bottles - left to right Disco Biscuit, Royal Navy & Yummy Mummy - which as I mention in the vid was supposed to be a lip gloss which is currently still on it's way =)
I have a bunch of other haul vids that I recorded & uploaded & then never got around to taking bottle pictures for the blog post ... in addition to all the NOTD pics I have to edit ... and finish up books from (ugh) last year & then start this years list ... in other words plenty to do but for now I'm headed out to lunch with Mom LOL.
This fun nail art was part of a collab I did over on YouTube with Klaire De Lys. You can check out the picture that we were both inspired by HERE. We did it a bit before the movie came out & I had every intention of getting the rest of my pictures posted in short order buuuut ... well.
I started out with a base color of Nubar Precarious Lavender, which in fact is not lavender but pink. Stamping is done with Wet n Wild Black Creme & Konad image plate m51. I tried to keep the placement random but once I finished I kind of wished I'd just picked a pattern LOL. The design is kind of a stem with leaves & I added flowers with both loose bronze flower-shaped sequins that I had, as well as Nyx Girls CN247 which is a silver flower glitter polish:
I did have a couple of favorite nails where the placement of the stamps & the placement of the flowers came together in very pleasing fashion:
& of course here is the tutorial:
Klaire is more of a makeup guru, although she does nails on occasion - & here is her beautiful tutorial as well:
Collabs can be kind of stressful, I feel this need to live up to the expectations of the person who approached me, especially when it's someone who I'm a huge fan of already like Klaire. But in the end so fun & so worth it =)
Zoya Paz is an awesome bright orange, next thing to being a neon, and a very stand out color all on its own - the camera does not do it justice. These pics are old enough that I can't remember how in the world I managed the gouge on my index finger LOL:
And then after a day I decided to try my hand with some freehand tiger stripes. I used black acrylic paint for the stripes:
Here's the tutorial:
I was really quite pleased with how everything came out. Before that I'd always just gone with stamping but I think I'll try some more freehand animal print in the future.
Ever since I showed my face instead of just my nails, I started getting questions about things other than nails - & so I've finally gotten around to doing short vid on my hair routine & maintenance. I guess it does qualify as a SLP since as I'm sure you all know there are few things more annoying than a bad hair day, so having a good hair day is always a pleasure =)
And, just over 2 hours until my stylist is on Bridezillas! NOT as the bride LOL as someone asked me, but I'm looking forward to seeing her on there, and wondering how much screen time she'll get since her particular Bridezilla gets a 3 episode story arc.
More nails coming, maybe even tonight if I get my act together - and be sure to please head to my Facebook Fan Page & help me out by voting on a name for the upcoming start of my fruit series =)
Sometimes it is perhaps not quite so obvious how far behind I am - but yes, these are Valentine's nails, and yes that means I'm about 4 months behind LOL.
I started off this manicure with a base of Zoya Marley, then did the marbling with Marley & Ulta Femme Fatale. I like these hearts better than the hearts I did the year before, but for something that seems like it should be simple, it's surprisingly hard to get exactly right in the water:
Some of the hearts ended up "cleaner" in the center than others ... shows that even I am not perfect & still have plenty to learn about marbling:
I don't remember what exact black Mom used for the base of this - I guess it doesn't matter that much, since the star of the show was China Glaze Haute Metal from their metallic Crackle Glaze collection:
