Finally! I made it to my holiday nails before Christmas Day =) Due to being so pleased with this one that I wore it a whole week, I am very close to being caught up for the first time since October LOL.
For my base color I used 2 coats of Ulta Professional Angel Baby, marbling done with AB & Ulta Salon Ruby Slipper:
The hard part for this, is keeping the stripes the same size throughout. I managed to keep them pretty even per hand, but my hands next to each other you can see the difference. I actually had one that came out thickly striped & looked really good, but I took it off & changed it to match with the thinner stripes. Here are my favorite nails:
And here is the tutorial:
Another couple of Christmas tutorials coming, and going to try & get my first cooking tutorial up in the morning before work so stay tuned =) Thanks for reading.

ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty!! Nice take on candy cane nails.
ReplyDeleteThose are so cool I tried to make ones with different colors and then I put a top coat on and it smeared any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I've got to practice my water marbling so maybe I can do something like this for next year.
ReplyDeleteANON - you have to use a very light touch - use the brush to kind of guide the topcoat but don't press hard enough you are actally touching the polish underneath =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much colette
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, this looks like the real thing! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, when you do your marble nails, do you have just water in your bin r do you have something more ? And if you have that, what is it ?
ReplyDeletethe nail polish only laid in a small lump in the middle ? How can I do it better ? :D
Omg! I trying today but the result was soooooo fail.... ( Sorry for bad English but I,m 11 years old and from Sweden...)
ReplyDeleteANON - it's plain room temperature filtered water =)
ReplyDeleteWow! What is it you have to protect your skin around the nail - tape? Can you make that movie with all the how to do from scratch? :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAGNES - it is just tape - there is a video how to do it under my tips & tricks playlist on youtube =)
ReplyDeletehi i have tried this but cant get it to work i have tried different polish and still no luck what do you recommend also does it have to be filtered water as i am using pre boiled water from a kettle cooled to room temp
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I haven't tried water marbling yet, seems so easy but I'm sure I will turn it into a whole day ordeal.
ReplyDeleteHey!! I just luv ur art!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe things u do....hope i could do the same. I just wanted 2 ask that which kind of nail paints do u use? Are there some special ones made for this purpose or u use the ordinary ones?
ISHHI - it's normal polish but not all colors work =)
ReplyDeletebut i guess ur paints become like a circle sort of a thing but mine don't spread...they just float on the surface. plz reply
DeleteSometimes it also happens that the nail polish sinks into the glass....why is it so???
