What Are You Gonna Buy?

Just saw the 5-hour 50% off RBL Sale notice in my email.  It's November 1st, Monday - and gee, guess what?  I'm off Monday!  So I'll have plenty of time to place an order in the timeframe (which I would normally be at work for).  I don't know what that order will be yet, LOL, but I've got some ideas =)

I'm also seriously going to try & get caught up this weekend - starting tonight.  Several NOTDs to post & I'm going to try & crank out my final Halloween tutorial this evening as well.  Then dig into comments, emails & catching up with everyone else's blogs!

Avon Haul

So, the wife of a guy at work recently started selling Avon ... and so there were catalogues all over, with nail polish on sale in them =)  Here's what I got:

 

 

Top left to right:  Fusion, Luxe Lavender, Lagoon, Olive Green.  Bottom left to right:  Mink, Urban Grey, Vintage Blue, Jade.

 

I'd say Lagoon was the surprise of the lot, the color drop gave no hint that there's like this periwinkle shimmer overlaying everything.  It's very pretty & very hard to photograph in these kind of boring square bottles - seems like round bottles show more color in pics.

 

Anyway, I'm sure many of you have heard that one of these is a dupe to a very expensive polish ... here is Olive Green next to Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit:

 

 

They don't look it in the bottle, probably in part because ONS needs a little more shaking than I gave it, but swatched they are damn close.  OG is a teensy tad itty bit darker with a measly trickle more blue.  No one but another nail blogger would ever notice LOL, and only at extremely close range.

Not that $9.00 for polish is cheap mind you. But I LOVE my 3 RBL polishes (the Blogger collection) & I said when I got them that I wanted to get more the next time there was a good sale ... which this certainly is. ARGH! I just didn't know it would happen right after I've already bought so much, although logically Christmas is an optimal time for a sale.

We got dumped on snow-wise the past couple days, so with shovelling & everything else I've gotten behind posting pics. I have 3 NOTDs & 1 TOTD pics waiting to be edited & posted. I might get them edited tonight & posted tomorrow, since I have Friday off of work. I'll be going to the holiday show, but if I don't sleep in too late I should have some time in the morning =) We'll see, otherwise I'll post when I get home. But I will get caught up! Eventually LOL.

NOTD: RBL Mismas

So, I changed my mani mainly because much though I loved the matte Extravagance, there's only so much matte I can take. But then I didn't know what to put on ... I decided to go basic, and what's more basic (for me, I mean) than purple? I pulled out Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas, and it went on lovely & I'm very sorry I didn't take any pics to show you from before I ruined it.

Well, maybe that's an exaggeration. But after I finished, I thought, "Oh, maybe just a little Konad" & my hand went to the Psyche Pink Princess polish, and my hand reached for plate m36 ... and soon the pure purple beauty of Mismas was marred:


So, I'm kind of irritated with myself, because I've done this before & I know better. This ended up reminding me of wallpaper or something, which is not always bad, but is definitely not good in this case. Bleh.

A better NOTD coming for you tomorrow: an oldie but a goodie, and the only hint is that it's a Misa color. Stay tuned =)

NOTD: RBL Orbis Non Sufficit

I hesitated for a while to wear this polish, because I was worried that I would be disappointed. I mean, when I spend $18/bottle on nail polish, I want to be in luuurrrvvve, you know? How could this mere creme compete with the shimmerfest goodness of Scrangie?

Silly me.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit (translation: the world is not enough) from the Blogger collection, Konad done with China Glaze Devotion & plate m40:


I had to add just a little Konad, but I really couldn't bear & didn't need to cover up much of this yummy color. Not to mention how well this goes with my pedi! I was a little worried that my patches might show with a creme, but that turned out not to be an issue =) I am 100% happy with all of my nails (well, the looks I'm saying, totally aside from the excessive patching). How often do I say that, picky as I know myself to be? I can't remember the last time I loved a mani this much ... oh, wait a minute ... YES I DO LOL =)

Tips & Toes

I don't want to get behind, but I don't have time to ramble as I usually do either =) Besides, I'm pretty sure that most of what there is possible to say about this polish has already been said. Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie:


To say I like it is an understatement LOL. It's a polish that continues to be interesting even after it's been on the nails for a while, and it makes me smile when glance down.

On the toes, not quite matching but coordinating pretty well, OPI Purple With A Purpose, which is a much pinker-toned purple than shows in these pics:

Poll & RBL

So, I am a couple days behind here, as the poll finished Thursday & I got my order on Friday ... but weekends are for catching up, right?

Lots of people actually not buying any, but personally I ended up in the "some of both" category. I posted my Barielle haul a few days ago (here), and now here is the most expensive polish I've ever purchased, the Resue Beauty Lounge blogger collection:


I can't wait to wear these, although my current NOTD is actually not one of these colors yet. I've got a Konad masterpiece on my fingers right now, but the sun is down so I probably won't post it until tomorrow when I can finish taking proper pics.
