NOTD: OPI Sun Streaked + Hidden Treasure Fail

Yes, that's right.  I didn't think it was possible, but I had a big ol' FAIL with the wondrous Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure.  I started out with a dusty I recently picked up, OPI Sun Streaked:

Nice color ... but boring.  Well, Hidden Treasure makes everything better - right?  Well, in this case actually not so much - the flakes are barely visible, it just mainly made the mani look lumpy:

I'm not sure what the problem was, if the color was just to shimmery, or too light, or too close to HT's base color?  So I though to myself, "Maybe matte-ifying it would help."  I was wrong:

Still lumpy.  Lumpier even.  And still boring.  By this time it was quite late & I didn't have time to try anything else & had to go through Thursday rather displeased with my nails.
Does anyone know what collection this OPI color is originally from BTW?  It's black label, so kind of old, but I'd never heard of it when I spotted it in the nail shop. I hope someone can satisfy my curiosity =)

NOTD: OPI My Private Jet (My 3rd)

This is my 3rd & newest version of OPI My Private Jet, my NOTD from Wednesday.  My other 2 versions can be seen HERE (the first I bought) & HERE (the original version I found as a dusty).  This version is kind of a grey/vampy bronze with sparse holo glitter:

I'd meant to do a comparison between the 3 different versions, but I've just been so short on time lately that I didn't manage to get it done.  I did get the rest of my pics edited, but I'm too tired to make posts for all of them.  So I'll try to get them up in the morning (well, later after I sleep LOL, probably more like early afternoon), before we go see grandma for mother's day.  Thanks for reading.

Glazed Lemon Cookies

So, the story behind my "needing" to make these is that I'd had some very similar ones at a local bakery.  They were delicious, but expensive - $2.00 per cookie, which is a bit much even though they're honkin' big cookies.  So I set out to find a recipe that I could make myself.  These aren't quite identical, but they hit all the important points - soft, lemony, glazed yummy deliciousness:

Mmmm, hungry for your own?  I used THIS Lemon Ricotta Cookie with Lemon Glaze recipe from Giada De Laurentis of Food Network fame.  Much easier than last time when I had to type everything out LOL!  This was a super easy recipe, the "hardest" part was zesting the lemons & that was more just tedious, because I did add a little extra zest to make the cookies super-lemony.

Anyway, the frosting has to set for a few hours, so I'm going to attempt to get some of the posting that didn't get done today out of the way.  I'm also ready to change my mani, but procrastinating because I know I have a tear in my thumb that needs to be patched at that time.  I thought I'd go ahead & shoot a video tutorial for patching while I was at it too.  And then the L'Oreal Passport to Paradise marble that I didn't get around to last weekend.

NOTD: Revlon Nude Nightie & China Glaze Cleopatra Funky French

Quite a mouthful there LOL, then I went & forgot to take half of my pics =(  Apparently I was really tired & skipped pics & just went to bed when I finished Monday night (this was Tuesdays NOTD).  1 coat of Revlon Nude Nightie, which is part of the Sweet Nothings collection & a nice complimentary sheer with gold shimmer, then I did the tips in like 3 coats of China Glaze Cleopatra, from last summer's glitters.  I had no sun for my outdoor shots, and the holo bits of glitter in with the gold didn't show up in any of the pics but please use your imagination to make this more bling like it was in person:

Kind of wish I'd done maybe a black smile line, but it was cool even without =)  Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: Icing Putty

This is a weird, cool color.  I'll call it taupe but in certain lights it leans more tan, sometimes green & others grey.  Mom loved it =)  Icing Putty:
