I've had a really busy week, and actually haven't done my nails since Saturday! Lucky for me I ended up with a color that I love AND that wore extremely well, Cotton Candy Matte-ified is still looking really good, no chips and only minimal tip wear. I was cheered up today when I came home to a delivery I've been waiting on, but thankfully, unlike above, my box:


had something a little more exciting inside:


This Gorillapod is my newest blog-related toy - I will be using it to start doing some video tutorials =) Of course, that means I need to get out the camera book & learn a little more about actually shooting video with it, but I'm hoping that learning curve won't be too harsh. I've already got 2 or 3 ideas I'd like to put up, and I'm sure more will come with time.

I created my YouTube account the other day when I decided there were a few channels I wanted to follow. I'd already made the decision to get a tripod, and ordered the Gorillapod a couple days later ($22.99 from Best Buy).

If I can figure out what the heck I'm doing, I'll be doing my first video tonight =) So please be gentle with me as I start out, and if you have any tips or tricks, I'd love to hear them!

Very Very Late Tag

Everybody gets busy. I give myself credit that I manage to cram in posts as regularly as I do, but stuff like comments & awards sometimes fall by the wayside ... It was over a week ago that I was tagged over at Juicy Nails, but I'm finally getting a chance to say thanks!


I am late enough that I think I will pass on tagging 15 more blogs because everyone has already been tagged =) But I appreciate being thought of, and "better late than never" seems to apply a lot to my blogging LOL.

NOTD: Nubar Cotton Candy + Matte Magic

Just a quick post, but I wanted to get these pics up of Nubar Cotton Candy Matte-ified with China Glaze Matte Magic:


A very lovely matte, which are words I never expected to say LOL. I guess I can no longer claim to dislike mattes =) The matte almost seems to make this more duo-chromey than it is when it's glossy. Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Nubar Cotton Candy

Once I got this onto my nails, it really reminded me of Maybelline Jaded Blues although this kind of has more of a super-heavy shimmer than a true duo-chrome. Still, I was very impressed with the different personalities this polish had in various lights. From the Nubar Sweet Nothings collection, this is Cotton Candy - which is a dumb name, since cotton candy is usually pink or occasionally blue but never to my knowledge green with gold sparkle:



I think I might matte-ify this for tomorrow, but I haven't quite made up my mind. We'll see. Until then, thanks for reading

Guest NOTD: SH Emerald Amethyst

I was looking over at Body & Soul and my mom saw this over my shoulder & started oooh'ing & ahhh'ing so I pulled open my duo-chrome drawer to see if I had it for her & I did =) She wasted no time in changing her mani to this; Sally Hansen nail Prisms Emerald Amethyst. Sorry the pics aren't the best, but it's a lot harder taking pics of someone else's nails LOL:
