Guest NOTD: NK Charcoal Navy + China Glaze Platinum Pieces

Mom was in looove with this both ways.  She started out with NK Charcoal Navy on its own - this scarf she's using as a prop in the sun pic is from the Fair, and I WILL still be posting pics!  It's just a daunting task LOL, hundreds to sort through from both trips.  Maybe this week, maybe next weekend, but food & other good things still to come.  Here's Charcoal Navy:

Then she cracked it with China Glaze Platinum Pieces:

Can you believe, when I started my blog Mom never painted her nails at all!  I've truly converted her =)

NOTD: The Evolution of Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

I have to start out by saying that this color was part of my most recent hauls, & I've purchased enough that it's time for a no-buy =)  I hope to have time to put together a haul post & vid this weekend but we'll see.  They're always too short!

When I spotted Revlon Facets of Fuchsia on the shelf at Target, I like stopped in my tracks to grab it.  I don't have the color to compare myself, but it looks like it's a very near dupe for Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance:

You can check out swatches of Bad Romance on these blogs:  All Lacquered Up, Vampy VarnishScrangie, & many other blogs.  And to see a head-to-head comparison of the two check out Candy Coated Tips.

Now, over time I've come to really like matte-ifying glitter polishes, so after a couple days I added Matte Magic over top:

And after a few days of that, without time to fully change my mani, I decided to gloss it up again with a layer of China Glaze Golden Enchantment, a golden holo top coat that really changed the look of the manicure, it kind of washed out the black base & made the whole nail look more purple in some light:

Which version is your favorite?  Revlon seems to do a pretty decent job when they set out to copy a color - sometimes (arguably I'm sure) even better than the original (Perplex anyone?).

NOTD: Ulta Purple Haze

Slightly duo-chrome in real life but not really at all in pics, just very very pretty.  This is Ulta Purple Haze:

Upcoming for the blog - I have 2 trips worth of state fair pics to edit, not only food but flowers & bonsai trees & all kinds of creative arts.  I had excellent retail therapy today so I'll have another haul vid/post coming.  And from a shopping trip over the weekend, on my nails right now - have you guys seen Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia???  Now I don't have it myself to compare but I'm going to go ahead & call it a dupe for Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance.  It was sitting innocently enough in a new 3-piece glitter addition to Revlon's normal display in Target (along with a blue too bright to be a dupe to Across the Universe & a weird pink creme + silver hex combination).  It's very gorgeous & about to be matte-ified =)  Pics should be up tomorrow or Thursday & I'll include links to some other bloggers that have swatched BR.

Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Ruby Kisses Golden Red + bm202

A nice red - stamping was a little more subtle than I thought it would be, and actually turned out better on my right hand.  Base color is Ruby Kisses Golden Red, stamping done with  Bundle Monster image place bm202 & Misa Ghetto Fabulous:

SOOOOO not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow =(  These long weekends have spoiled me LOL, but I seriously hate hate HATE my job lately.  Only good thing is getting payments processed in 4 days instead of 5 should make the time fly because we'll be so busy.  One can only hope.  I'm already planning my retail therapy after work tomorrow - I went to Ulta to spend my reward certificate & saw several other things that I wanted so I'm going to print some more coupons from their website =)

Thanks for reading.

More 2012 Crackles & Kleancolor Crackles

I have quite a haul, and a lot of them are crackles =)  I went to a new to me beauty supply store & found a whole bunch on nice & cheap polish, so I indulged.  A few of the 2012s are from Walgreens, colors that Family Beauty Supply (Broadway & Fremont for my local readers) didn't have, but they were only $2 at the beauty supply compared to $5 at Walgreens, so I got what I could for cheap.

Here's the haul vid - my longest video so far I think, almost a half an hour somehow LOL:

Here are all my new 2012 colors:

Top:  You & I, Acid Rain,Mercy Me, Helios, Afterlife, Evolution.  Bottom:  Extraterrestrial, Tomorrow, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sea of Galilee, Typhoon, Prayer.

Blue Crackle & Green Crackle.

Here are the NK polishes:

Left to right:  Green Apple, Turquoise, Charcoal Navy, After Dark, Metallic Noir.

Here are the Ruby Kisses polishes:

Top:  Black Eutopia, Golden Red, Twinkling Mauve, Tropical Green.  Bottom:  Blue Pearl, Baby Blue, All Purpled Out.

And here are some closer-up pics on the nail wheel swatches - the Kleancolor is a very unique crackle (similar to Kelier if you're a fan of that now HTF brand) if you're patient enough to let it dry, so I also swatched them over white so the pattern was really visible:

And then the 2012s - some of the neons did kind of a weird thing with top coat added ... they look almost ... I don't know, diseased LOL, the orange over black in particular:

Have you picked up any of this 2012 brand?  Which colors did you get & what do you think of them?

Thanks for reading =)
