Next my nubbins were graced with Freaky Like Freud from the Brilliants collection of Formula X for Sephora:
Of course, something this sparkly and holographic and basically AWESOME, I had to do a polish in motion for:
So, obviously I loved this polish, what do you think of this color? It actually is a very pale lavender, although with all the holo sparkle it comes off silver; here's a comparison betweem it and Hubba Hubble (the actual silver from the Brilliants collection):
After I chopped my nails I needed sparkles to make me feel better, so I wore a succession of really beautiful polishes, the first of which was Anise Cosmic Kiss - the Anise brand is available at DSW of all places:
The inner fire and subtle holo finish of this polish didn't show up like I wanted it to in pictures, so I did a Polish in Motion for it:
Sooo pretty! I really enjoyed having this on my tiny nubbins. They've since grown out of course, but I'm trying to keep them on the shorter side (for me) for a couple of reasons - one of which is in an effort to minimize breaks which is so far a fail; I think I could get a break at any length I am such a clutz LOL.
I've got such a backlog, both from earlier this year & from last year, I could probably do a post a day for the next year & not be caught up. I don't know if I can actually follow through on that, but I plan to try! Day two: check!
Moving right along ... not quite as quickly as I'd like, but quicker than I've managed recently LOL so I guess I shouldn't complain. Another holo - apparently I was on a kick - this one is actually a very light green but it's hard to tell in most of the lighting, you just see the holo effect. This is Jade Groove:
And here's a look at it in motion:
I'm not only enjoying editing my old manicure pics - I'm enjoying all the pics I'm finding while digging through them =) Here's a bonus pic of Dude looking very alert & serious:
Another gorgeous Layla holo - Ocean Rush is probably the most vibrant blue holo in my collection. China Glaze DV8 is close but leans more teal, this is a deep turquoise touched kind of blue & I loved wearing it:
Ironic to be posting an old holo manicure as I'm wearing one of my new holos =) (I'm enjoying Color Club Miss Bliss currently, if you're wondering)
Layla is a bit on the expensive side, but if you love holographic polish they're worth adding to your collection I think. Here's a look at Flash Black:
And an even better look - in motion:
I wish it were still as nice out as when I shot this vid back in the summer - if I do a polish in motion for my current color I'm going to end up with pretty cold fingers LOL.
This one I remember very fondly & I do have something to say about - it was at the time, and still is, my favorite magnetic polish that I've worn to date. The contrast is just so dramatic & as you will be able to see in the PiM (Polish in Motion), it's 3-dimensional & just generally awesome. Layla Black Metal Magneffect Polish:
Here's the vid:
I have, at this point, a ton of magnetic polishes. And while I have yet to wear many of them, I think this one will reign on top for quite a while =)
It's discouraging when I get behind on things. And then that leads to procrastination. And that (obviously) leads to falling even further behind. I've had a few people ask if I've stopped blogging, and a few others suggest that maybe I should stop blogging. But I'm not & I won't & I'm re-dedicating myself to getting caught up with this *ahem* nearly 6 month backlog of pics. And I'm starting today so that July isn't a month with no posts at all.
In an effort to speed things up a bit, I'm not going to be labeling my pics with what kind of light they're taken in anymore. I think for the most part you guys are pretty used to the 4-5 kinds anyway - the natural lamp, camera flash, shade, sun & occasionally overcast. I may or may not start doing it again once I'm caught up - we'll see when I get there LOL.
To which I then added Finger Paints Flecked for some flaky goodness:
And for my final day I topped it with Warpaint Beauty Mattify:
Here's a look at it in motion:
And that's that - if I had more to say at this point I've unfortunately forgotten LOL. And that may be the case for a lot of these, since they are so old ... but even with nothing for me to say I think they speak for themselves =)
Thanks for sticking around - and thanks for reading.
So, tired as I am during the week, for some reason I don't go to bed early on Fridays ... I suppose I could, but somehow I always end up staying up later than I intend. At least tonight I am being productive =) I plan on posting a lot this weekend - starting now!
This is my last manicure from ... January. I suck so bad LOL. I can't even fool myself that I can conceivably get caught up in a single weekend at this point. But if I can start doing several posts a day, maybe I can make a dent in this huge backlog - I really appreciate all of your patience =)
Nails Inc Whitehall is an awesome teal magnetic polish. I am still madly in love with magnetics & I saw a promo pic somewhere a few days ago that China Glaze is coming out with a 2nd collection that I'm looking forward to. I started off with it glossy:
Then I had to do a couple days matte:
I think this may be the first blog post with my new matte topcoat? Many of you may know that Matte Magic is HTF if not completely discontinued, so I picked up Warpaint Beauty Mattify because it was the cheapest one that I came across. I still have a bit of MM left but I'm glad to know there is an easily available alternative - Warpaint Beauty is sold at Hot Topic (& elsewhere as well I'm sure but I don't know where).
Here's a look at both versions in motion - I love the depth of magnetic polishes, the seemingly peaks & valleys inside the polish:
