NOTD: Formula X for Sephora Freaky Like Freud

Next my nubbins were graced with Freaky Like Freud from the Brilliants collection of Formula X for Sephora:

Of course, something this sparkly and holographic and basically AWESOME, I had to do a polish in motion for:

So, obviously I loved this polish, what do you think of this color?  It actually is a very pale lavender, although with all the holo sparkle it comes off silver; here's a comparison betweem it and Hubba Hubble (the actual silver from the Brilliants collection):

NOTD: Purple Stripes Water Marble + Tutorial

So far I think this is the only time I've done a striped marble vertically on my nails - I think I ought to give it a try again.  For this I used Zoya Harmoniefor my base color, and then marbling is done with Harmonie & Zoya Sloane(which is from the Pulse Collection):

Here are my favorite nails:

And here's the tutorial:

I didn't get as much done last weekend as I'd hoped.  Maybe if I set a low bar this weekend, I can exceed my expectations for once LOL?

NOTD: Spring Pastel Rainbow Water Marble + Tutorial

So, Nail Art April started off with a marble that didn't quite fit into March =)  I used Orly Au Champagne for my base, then Marbling was done with 6 Revlon pastels - Sunshine Sparkle, Peach Smoothie, Pink Again, Gum Drop, Blue Lagoon & Minted.

I actually started out this design with a big fail that turned out kind of cool in hindsight; I wish I'd taken more pictures.  I wanted each nail to have just an arc of color, but it turned out too pale - I tried an overlay-marble of black that turned out looking grey ... and so after I did one hand I took it off & stared over again.  Here's a look at the fail that maybe wasn't quite such a fail:

Either way, this is what replaced it - due to the way I dipped my nails, they almost all turned out just a little different.  Very pale, especially in certain lights, but it was well suited for the Easter season it happened to be at the time:

I didn't have any nails that I didn't like, which as you know is pretty rare - so I took close-ups for all of them:

And of course here is the tutorial:

NOTD: China Glaze Drawn to You

I was on a magnetic kick this week back at the end of February, apparently. This one is from the China Glaze Magnetics collection - the Magnetix II collection is already available online & in stores soon too by the way, and I like the colors but really am looking forward to the magnet with 3 more different designs.

This particular color I had a bit of trouble, I remember having to redo several nails & you can see a little bit of a blemish on my index finger where the magnet either touched or just pulled up the polish too much, Anyway, this is China Glaze Drawn to You:

I still love the whole magnetic look, but I never did get through wearing nearly all that I bought - & never got around to swatching the THIRTY Nabis that I bought either.  Yeah -30 bottles of magnetic, at what I considered a very reasonable ~$70 on ebay for the whole lot.

NOTD: Zoya Malia + bm213

I so totally apologize for being an AWOL blogger this week!  A combination of business & laziness - I just took off this mani, which I'd had on since Sunday.  I know, right?  That's such a long time, I was so bored with it by today LOL.  I was dealing with YouTube problems also, which I finally got cleared up, and then last weekend I helped my stylist at a hair show, took pictures & etc - these nails were actually done to match the purple dress I wore to the event =)

I started off with a base color of Zoya Malia - a very lovely lavender creme, completely opaque & even at 2 coats:

Then I stamped with Bundle Monster image plate bm213 & Color Club Wild at Heart:

Double stamping of course, but this was a very easy design to do it with.  Even though the full nail images on my 2nd set of BM plates are bigger than on the original set, it's still a bit of a better fit for me to stamp it "sideways."  Especially since either direction I'd still need to double stamp.

I don't even know what I'm about to put on my nails ... my patches could use a change so I'm thinking glitter since when I soak it off usually my patches come off too.  But that would mean I definitely have to make extra time this weekend, which is busy again with a birthday party, a lunch date, and a fruit tart to be made for work Monday!  Gah, what happened to my boring weekends?!  LOL  If I have any free time I'd like to make a new tutorial, I'd also like to get some more of this year's books posted ... we'll see =)

Thanks for reading.
