NOTD: China Glaze Lemon Fizz + M56

Trying very hard not to be AWOL over here, but don't have much time so I'm just going to get the pics up with a minimum of rambling ... this was my NOTD Monday, it turned out how I pictured, but for some reason I just wasn't feeling it.  Too .... yellow LOL.  From the Up & Away collection, this is China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Konad done with Orly Snowcone & image plate m56:

Aiming for more consistency, although that may mean shorter posts until I actually get on top of things.  Thanks for reading.

Much More Comfortable =)

My old desk chair - which was really not a proper desk chair at all - has been dying a slow death for quite a while.  I finally replaced it, when I went to Ikea to get another Helmer.  I actually sat in this chair when I bought my first 2 Helmers LOL, but I wasn't willing to shell out the cash at the time.  It is sooo comfortable, partly because the back really reclines a lot, nice for when I need to spin to the side & watch TV =) This is Ikea's Marcus:

& yes, since it came from Ikea I did in fact have to assemble it - & got through  the process without incident!  I was half-afraid I'd break a nail, but although I did have several painfully clumsy moments, my mani is intact - I  didn't even chip my polish.  Took less than an hour for the actual assembly, which was a releif because I wasn't sure how complicated it was going to be.

I've still got to make dinner, then eat it, soooo... not sure I'm going to have time to edit pics & change my mani both, but I thought I could throw this up quick to show I had a good reason (at least today LOL) for falling behind =)

Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Orly Plum Noir + M72

Well, I should be in bed, but I'm not, so I might as well do something constructive.  Why am I awake at 1 am when I am perpetually sleep deprived during the week?  Well, I'm a night owl ... I could be tired all day, yet as evening comes I find myself the most awake.  I force myself to bed during the week ... but tomorrow I can sleep all day if I want.  Although I do have some errands to run ... I am in need of a 3rd Helmer =)

Anyway, I really liked this mani, & combined with the purple tiger stripes that preceded it, I've renewed my love of Konad, which I'd been kind of neglecting with my current fascination with water marbling & freehand nail art.

I think most of the people around me are so used to my nails always being done that most manis go unremarked, but I actually got a lot of compliments on this.  Base color is Orly Plum Noir, Konad done with Orly Snowcone & image plate m72:

I think I got some of the tips a little crooked, but this design is very forgiving.  I'd never tried it before, didn't think it looked that interesting on the plate, but I will for sure use it again.  I did get some residue from Snowcone when stamping, but Seche Vite really worked it's magic.  Here's a before & after topcoat comparison ... just so you can see the difference, but as always if you want to see larger just click on them:

So if you try this color & run into this problem, don't worry.  As long as it's just a thin film ,topcoat will totally take care of it.

Going to try & get into bed shortly here.  I did manage to get on top of the questions coming through YT, but I'm still in a ridiculous hole where blog comments are concerned.  Getting to them this weekend will depend on when I decide to fit in the assembly time, although if I remember correctly, they take less than an hour.

Fruit Tart

So, we were going to have a small potluck in my department at work today, that got canceled due to scheduling conflicts.  I was going to bring a fruit tart - that I'd already bought the fruit for.  So I decided to still make the tart, a day later, to bring to my grandparent's house tomorrow.  I've made this before, but I'm pretty sure I've never posted a pic, so have a look:

Mmmm YUMMY!  If anyone is interested in the recipe, comment or email & I'll post it up later - right now I'm for bed.  Didn't even have time to change my nails, but that's OK because I didn't really want to take this off anyway - I am wearing Orly Plum Noir with Snowcone blue Konad french tips.  Can't wait to show you guys ... tomorrow =)  Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Zoya Zara + M57

I had this on for 3 whole days.  2 days I wore it plain & 1 day I added Konad.  I have to say I'm ready for Zoya to have another sale so I can have an excuse to buy some, because I love all mine so much - they generally don't linger in the untrieds wasteland too long between buying & actually wearing.

This is Zoya Zara, gorgeous lavender with a strong gold shimmery flash, originally from the Flourish collection:

I added Konad with Color Club Wild at Heart & image plate m57 ... I don't know if this is technically tiger or zebra ... there is another very similar Konad design, and I'm guessing they're each supposed to be the particular animal.  Whatever - I have to double-stamp this design of course, but it's suprisingly easy to line up.  You can see I had a little trouble on my middle & pinky but the others turned out better:

Thanks for reading =)
