NOTD: China Glaze Gamer Glam + m65

This was my NOTD on Friday, an awesome mani, & I loved it even though the double-stamping didn't go perfectly.  It's abstract enough that it wasn't glaringly obvious - at least, not to anyone but me LOL.

 

I started with a base of China Glaze Gamer Glam from the Tronica collection, then did stamping with Black special polish & Konad plate m65.  I've always wanted to use this design but couldn't quite figure out where to match it up.  I finally gave it a try doing the second stamp with just part of the design - I put the seam towards my cuticle because I thought it would show less, but I actually think it would have been easier to do it at the tip.  I know I'm being picky but the stamping that turned out best IMO was my right middle finger (shown in the 2nd sunlight pic):

 

 

Here's an example of how I cut the design - I then reversed the design & matched the "cut" end of the 2nd stamp with the part on the first stamp that I cut off, if that makes sense?  I think you can tell what I mean if you compare with how it turned out on the nail:

 

 

And the best part?  My nails looked exactly like my shirt!

NOTD: Orly Iron Butterfly (4 Ways)

Well, this manicure turned into quite the journey LOL.  Although given the opacity of the polish, even the finished product wasn't too many layers.  I started out with Orly Iron Butterfly, part of their Metal Chic collection.  This impressed me because it was opaque in one coat & it dried very quickly, although not so fast that it was difficult to work with on the nail:

Next was using China Glaze Admire, from the Romantique collection & Konad image plate m65:

I was pretty pleased, and went to bed, but for some reason when I got up the next morning I didn't like it as well anymore so I took 5 mins to add another coat of Iron Butterfly & then a coat of Seche Vite:

These particular mattes from Orly remind me of the OPI Suedes, in that they have a lot of depth when you add a topcoat, a girl at work even asked if I added the silvery glitter as a separate topcoat.

NOTD: ChG Millennium

The formula on this lovely from the Glitters & Chromes collection is great, better than it was on Twenty-Four K. This reminds me a lot of the Romantiques, it was just about opaque in 1 coat & I will be trying it with Konad the next time I need a silver =) China Glaze Millennium, Konad done with Black Special Polish & plate m65:


I saw this kind of corner placement with a full nail design over at Charming Nails & pretty much immediately wanted to give it a try & I love how it came out! Thanks for reading.

Not My Favorite Koni

Not enough contrast, not a neat transition on the nails I needed to double stamp, and not even good application on the ones that only needed one stamp. And apparently I need to thin my Seche, because I got bubbles. Argh!

Still, here it is - China Glaze Adore konied with China Glaze Awaken & plate m65:

I'll have to make time tomorrow to change this.

Since I'm not too happy with the mani, I thought I'd throw in something (someone) who always makes me happy; here's Frisky all stretched out, napping in the heat:


When I just recently took her to the vet, the vet tech came up and asked "I just want to make sure we have the right file - your cat was born in 1991?" and I go "Yes, she's 18" LOL we've had her so long we had to get a new little booklet where they check off her shots, she used up all the spaces in her original one.
