NOTD: Green Water Marble for Depression Awareness + Tutorial

A lot of other bloggers have already posted about October being Depression Awareness month, and I am a little late but still made it on the last day of the month =)  I did a green water marble with Nubar colors:  Greener, Conserve & Earth.  I used Greener as my base color & the whole mani came out really richly colored:

NOTD: Candy Corn Water Marble + Tutorial

Happy Halloween!  This is my last Halloween mani, and I have to say  I'm rather pleased with the amount of Halloween-themed nails I managed to squeeze in this year =)

This marble was inspired by candy corn - I kind of wish I'd gone with a white base, then the white on top might actually have looked white instead of light yellow like it ended up LOL.  But I was still fairly happy with the final result - my favorite nails are both my ring fingers.  I used Sally Hansen Sun Kissed, Mellow Yellow, & White On:

Here's the tutorial:

And, just for fun, here's a shot of some of my experiments ... are you interested in seeing more of these?  I almost always do a few test runs before I get to my actual nails:

NOTD: China Glaze Zombie Zest + bm 13

Zombie Zest is from China Glaze's 2010 Halloween Collection, Awakening.  I like it quite a bit, & I started out wearing it glossy, with a few fingers stamped with a witch & bats from Bundle Monster plate bm13.  I don't think I've mentioned the break I'm dealing with on my index, but you can see in some of these pics, it is pretty bad, and has been very hard to maintain - it keeps re-ripping even with a patch, I've got to supplement with glue practically every day:

Here it is the 2nd day with Matte Magic added:

Thanks for reading!  One more Halloween look that I'll be posting up for you guys, a Candy Corn inspired water marble =)  Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Bloody Ruffian + Tutorial

I saw a ruffian like this a few months ago, I think maybe over at Scrangie?  & thought it would be a good look for Halloween.  For my base color, I use OPI Sanguine, and then went over the top with Orly Iron Butterfly.  I wore it glossy, & didn't take any pics of the look matte, but you can see the matte version in the video - here's my Bloody Ruffian:

Here's the tutorial:

I am going to do my last Halloween tut now =)  Thanks for reading.

What Are You Gonna Buy?

Just saw the 5-hour 50% off RBL Sale notice in my email.  It's November 1st, Monday - and gee, guess what?  I'm off Monday!  So I'll have plenty of time to place an order in the timeframe (which I would normally be at work for).  I don't know what that order will be yet, LOL, but I've got some ideas =)

I'm also seriously going to try & get caught up this weekend - starting tonight.  Several NOTDs to post & I'm going to try & crank out my final Halloween tutorial this evening as well.  Then dig into comments, emails & catching up with everyone else's blogs!

Are you going to take advantage of the sale?  Let me know what you're lemming =) Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Spider Web French Tips

More Halloween nails!  I confess to being a little disappointed with this mani though ... it wasn't quite a fail, but not a total success either.  Upon reflection, I think maybe I should have skipped the first coat, and just done one really thick wet layer instead of a mostly-dry but somewhat sticky layer & then a moderate wet layer on top of that.  I'll do that next time =)

I used Sephora Pure Plum for the base color, and then marbled the tips in a spiderweb design with Sephora Double Platinum:

NOTD: Halloween Orange & Black Flames Water Marble + Tutorial

LOVED this marble!  I started out with a base of 2 coats of Orly Orange Punch.  A pretty hard color to capture in pics actually, it was very bright, almost neon, but it just looks like a normal orange here (& kind of red in the vid):

Usually I only do one coat of white or color for my base, but I wanted to make sure that the orange really popped with this one.  Then I marbled with Orange Punch & Orly Liquid Vinyl.  I started out just wanting something orange & black, but the finished product really came out looking like fire:

Here's the tutorial:

Still a few more Halloween ideas, I hope I have enough time to do them since I waited until the end of the month LOL.  I also wanted to do a pink marble for breast cancer awareness month, and a green marble for depression awareness month which is also October.  But I've only got a week left in the month ... we'll see =)

Thanks for reading.
