You know, China Glaze isn't the only company that could use a trip down memory lane to the glory days of holographic polishes past. I picked up some of this old, old L'Oreal line (I don't even remember ever seeing this in stores) at the Dollar Tree, probably around a year ago, and I'm still working my way through them. They came 3 of these goofy little bottles to a dollar package, and they are drop dead gorgeous. This particular reddish purple gem is L'Oreal Bijou Crystals B. Brave:
Coordinated again with my outfit LOL:
And because it's too gorgeous for only pictures, here's a look in motion:
So, how many lemmings have I just created? =) Thanks for reading.
I try to do something that I'll really like after a chop - so I picked this lovely dark blue, OPI Light My Sapphire. The stamping actually came out ridiculously crooked if you compare them to each other, but it's not obvious because of the scalloped edge LOL. It actually turned out looking pretty good, kind of an eyelet lace look - stamping done with China Glaze Devotion & Konad image plate m80:
Gave the nails a trim after I took off Teenage Dream, I had a couple of breaks that had grown out long enough to cut down, though there are a few still left. I didn't take any before shots, but I'd guess I took off probably 3-4mm. I know they're not short ... but they're shorter:
A bit more stained than I'd prefer, but I can't pretend that I really care too much. You can actually see towards my cuticle when I switched from using a ridge-filling base coat back to the sticky - you wouldn't think they'd be that different (same brand) but the sticky seems to prevent staining better.
My sleep cycle is so messed up on the weekends LOL. I meant to post this last night, Friday, but here it is Saturday ... or really Sunday morning. I've had this on for over 4 days, but it hasn't been exactly the same the entire time. I started off with just OPI Teenage Dream, from the Katy Perry collection, on it's own.
Pics do not do the glitter justice. I took a vid, which is a little better but still doesn't convey the full impact:
And for the 3rd day I topped that with Matte Magic - it was really cool how the holo glitter still managed to shine though the matte-ifying, almost more like flakies than glitter, I think because they were larger than the rest of the glitter:
