NOTD: Layla Metallic Sky

OK, so I didn't get much done over the weekend but never fear - I'm not going AWOL again =) One more magnetic beauty before we get to March - which I treated as a theme month on YouTube.

This is a combination, the polish is Layla Metallic Sky, but I used the China Glaze magnet for the star design - which, if you don't already know, is THE trickiest magnet pattern to get looking decent LOL.  But I was pretty happy with my results:

For the second day I added Warpaint Beauty Mattify:

Finding some other cute things in my trek through old pics - these were, after all, taken in February - and while I was out taking pictures I couldn't resist the perfect snow & made a lil mini-snowman:

Next on my catchup list - water marbles, water marbles & more water marbles as I revisit Water Marble March!

Thanks for reading.

  1. That's interesting. Seems the ChG star is the only magnet I can get to look decent... :/ I don't know how you get the designs so nice looking! I'm in awe. Also glad to hear that you won't be going awol again! lol I *love* your posts.

  5. Never would have thought to use a matte top coat over magnet design I think its prettier that way than on its own! Makes the magnet design really stand out :)

  7. I stared at this mani for a REALLY long time and finally got it... it reminds a X-Ray!
Dunno why, but it really does... especially in the mattified form.

  8. I absolutely love the star magnet with my blue polish (I forget which one it is) it reminds me so much of my mother's star sapphire wedding ring. I can never get my magnets to work this perfectly. Sometimes it seems like the whole nail gets magnetized, the shade of the whole nail changes from the original polish color after applying. Any special tips or tricks? Does thinner kill these polishes? Stronger magnet recommendations?

  9. Has anyone ever tried a magnetic water marble? I don't know if it would work, but that might be cool to try!

This looks amazing. I love it. PLEASE do a tutorial on YouTube for Nail Art April. I have never even heard of magnet polish and I'm staring at this, trying to figure out how to do it. Again, please do a tutorial on this one! Great job. I'm sure your coworkers love it when you come in with new designs; you never disappoint. :)
