NOTD: Pretty Pink Petals Water Marble + Tutorial

Sometimes it takes longer than others to find compatible colors for water marbling, but it's always worth it =)  For this design I started with a base of one coat of Wet n Wild Wild French White & one coat of Savvy Fairy Twinkle.  Then I marbled with Savvy Red Caviar, OPI The One That Got Away, Rimmel Addictive, China Glaze Strawberry Fields & Savvy Fairy Twinkle.  I had a few issues with color bleeding but overall I really like the final look - unfortunately no sun the past few days:

Here's a shot of the bottles all lined up (in reverse order from what I have listed above) - the Fairy Twinkle actually does have that golden glimmer on the nail, but it didn't come across in any of the pics:

And my favorite nails, left index, middle, ring & thumb:

Finally the tutorial:
Next tutorial I think will be a blue version of the zig-zag & polka dot funky french I did last Easter.  Thanks for reading.

  7. Absolutely gorgeous turn out! I typically stick to using a flower pattern when I do my marbles, I don't get too adventurous but I will eventually. Only once I feel brave enough to try a different pattern.

  8. Hi Colette. I seldom comment though I'm a regular (and rabbid :p) follower of your blog, but I can't let this one pass without expressing how gorgeous it is. It's really beautiful. I haven't managed to grow my nails beyond 3mm so far, so my results are always way less beautiful than yours, but your tutorials have helped me mastered the marble technique, so a huge thank you for that and keep the good work.

I love your work! You are such a fabulous, beautiful artist with amazing passion and creativity! I have learned so much from you by following you on youtube and here. I've been one of those... silent viewers for quite some time now. I've always loved nail art, and because of you, I've started my own blog, and have been so very looking forward to creating my own youtube channel. You have taught me so much, and when I eventually get around to shout outs (my blog is only a couple of days old), you are my number one! You've inspired me so much, and I look forwards to your next design and tutorial! Thank you so much for being so truly amazing!

    1. Hey there in the beginning I wasted lots of bottles of polish. My polish wouldn't spread like colette's. Because my water was not room temp. Using. Trial and error I made my own filter water. Easy. I started collecting left over clean water (kettle water). I used empty bottles to store. I placed the paper towel (filter) over an empty cup and poured my stored water in to my filter. Once my cup was full I emptied it to an empty water bottle. I found using this water my polish formed perfect bulleyes. And stayed liquid must longer 2mins then when using normal tap water. Even polish I struggled with seem to wrk. It really boils down to the water because if u use warm water polish doesn't set . If u use cold water polish harden no circles. U could always try keeping water out over night and see. If that doesn't work try using my home made filter method.

  33. ANON - Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)
