NOTD: China Glaze Sugar Plums

Very pretty color, not that pretty of a manicure.  Even with 2 coats of Seche this polish had a gritty finish, not what I expected from something with such minimal glitter.  Still pretty, although the holo shows much more in the bottle than on the nail; just I tend to kind on feel my nails throughout the day - and I didn't enjoy them feeling textured rather than smooth.  You don't notice it much or really at all in pics - from the holiday collection, this is China Glaze Sugar Plums:

I don't normally tease you guys ... but I am so in love I can't resist.  Here is a tiny peek, just one nail, from my current mani:

The tutorial for this is going to be my 100th vid on YouTube - I wanted to do something gorgeous & purple & I'm very happy with the results.  I'm still trying to come up with a good name for it that conveys the full awesomeness, but I plan to get the rest of the pics & the video edited tomorrow night, so stay tuned for a full post =)  Thanks for reading.

  5. I had the same problem with China Glaze Sugar Plum! It was gritty, even with the top coat. It had to come off after 1 day! -Sophia

  6. Can't wait to see the purple water marble video Colette.
Your creativity inspired me last night. I did a mani last night with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Plum's the Word and then did a swipe of Cover Girls Boundless Color in Amethyst Mist (a holographic glitter) across the tips like a french. It's subtle and elegant. Thanks!

  7. Sugar Plums is a really pretty color, I've only worn it once so far...on my toes. Do you mean this color is supposed to be holographic?

  8. Oh and I forgot to add...I'm the same way about wanting smooth nails. I inadvertently touch my nails all the time to feel how "smooth" they are and it is bothersome when the polish is gritty. :)

    Love your blog, btw!

  10. I haven't worn that polish yet. Looks gorgeous on you. Some polishes don't bother me being gritty.
