Guest NOTD: MF Independent

This is quite an old polish, I don't think Max Factor even makes nail polish anymore ... is the company even around any more??  Either way, this is Mom wearing Max Factor Independent:

She liked this color, although I thought it was kind of boring mauve-brown.  It didn't wear very well though, she already had 2 sizeable chips on her right hand on  the first day of wearing it.  Not sure if that's just because it's old or what ... good excuse to put something more interesting on LOL =)

Thanks for reading.

  1. Max Factor are still around in the UK, their adverts for mascara and foundation appear frequently on TV.

I have a similar colour to this by MF, but it's more coral-based - weird formula, kind of rubbery :D

JENNY - I have a couple other colors of this buy haven't worn them myself for quite a while, I think we both got ours when they were on clearance.

  3. I have this exact color. It's in my top 5 fav nail polishes. My #1 fav is "Fever Flesh" by Max Factor as well. I have no idea where to find MF nail polish either, as I live in Canada and I got these colors (and 2 others) on a whim at a Dollar Tree in the States, but I have to say this:
Max Factor longevity is the best I've ever seen. Maybe it was just my bottles or something but I've never had nailpolish stay on for 2 WEEKS without chipping, through dishes and showering. I find that instead of chipping, the polish actually changes color slightly over time on the nail and then before it chips off it actually creates little hairline cracks in the enamel, kind of like the crackle stuff but tiny tiny... It's unnoticable unless your face is right in your nails, but it's kind of like the nail polish telling you "this is your 3 day warning before I start chipping". It's kind of cool. :)
Max Factor is AMAZING and I'm dying to get more nice colors. Unfortunately they only seem to have the shit close-out colors on eBay. If you find MF nail polish, BUY IT.
Thanks for listening to me rant.
