Less May Have Been More

Not that I'm unhappy with the finished product, but I took a pic halfway through & that looked pretty good too. I used Nubar Black Chrome for my base color, then used China Glaze 2Nite & Color Club Worth The Risque for the design. Here's the finished product:

BUT, here it is with just the 2Nite:

I guess it's a matter of just exactly how much bling you want =) Like I said, not unhappy, but tempted to do a mani specifically to use the more conservative design. So what do you guys think? Leave a comment & let me know which you prefer =) Thanks for reading.

  1. Wow!!! I love them both, and I wouldn't blame you for wanting to do another one for the more conservative look too. But that last one...just wow! Gorgeous! :-)

  2. i really like both looks, but yeah i have to agree, if you do it again i would stop at just the first level of stripes :) but the all out stripes are pretty ballin' so work it mami!

  3. This is very beautiful manicure, i like ti very much, and perfectly fit your nail size and shape.
And i think that more lines looks more complete and i like it much betetr then less stripes

  4. wow! again, you are really good at that stripe design.
while both pictures look really good, I have to admit I tend to prefer the one with less stripes but I also know that if it had been me I would have been VERY tempted to add another layer of stripes, just like you did ^_^

  5. I am going to have to throw my vote in with everyone else. And I was so sure I was going to be in the minority! But I think this is a great example of "less is more" - I get more impact with the more conservative mani :)

  7. Dang - you have skills with that stripe-er- I looove them both!

I think the midway photo shows so much more contrast in color & the holo and perfect striping would be more apparent!

    very pretty both ways............

CHOCADDICT - I wanted to go with my original plan, and kept repeating to myself that I'd have plenty of opportunity to try the other way.

DEEZ - I agree, in the final version it's hard to see the underlying lines are blue, it was another reason I liked the partial version.
