Old Gift Haul

I recorded this like 2 or 3 weeks ago & never got around to taking bottle pics & editing the vid.  My friend Sam cleaned out her stash, and I got the spoils =D  And out of all these colors, I think I already have only 3 of them, so I was very pleased.

First, a few Finger Paints that I picked up on additional 50% off clearance - so they were only a dollar each:

Finger Paints Artist's Sapphire, Gallery Glam, Whose Hue? & Hue Rang?

Now on to my gift haul, starting with the brands that there was only one bottle of:

Rimmel Wishing on a Star, Delux Beauty Star Daisy, Maybelline Denim Dash, Avon Retro Rose, Essie Hot Commodity & Zoya Diem.

4 colors from Elf:

No Label nude & No label pink with silver shimmer, Sunset & Burgundy.

2 Revlons & 3 Sally Hansen from various lines:

Revlon Always Flaunting & Sparkling Cafe; Sally Hansen Sunrise Sunset, Petal Pusher & Emerald City.

3 Finger Paints:

Meet Me at the Met, Tapestry in Taupe & Art Dealer Teal-er.

2 Hard Candy:

Unfortunately their mini-bottles don't have names =(  But still pretty purple & pink.

5 Pure Ice:

Strip Tease, Cheatin, French Kiss, Busted, Risk Taker.

And finally few super-tiny Sally Hansen minis:

These don't have names either.  Stop being lazy polish companies!  Mini-bottles are people ... errr, polish too!  They deserve names!

Finally the Haul vid, me rambling as usual LOL:

I have my more recent haul to get together now that I have this old one out of the way =)  Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: Zoya Jules

When I originally wore this, I was a little disappointed - such a pretty color, and I just didn't like it on myself.  But mom wanted to give it a try, and I think that Zoya Jules looks much better on her:

Mom is currently sporting her very first crackle-polish mani, so I'll have pics of that up in the next few days =)  Thanks for reading.

Naked Nails 7-4-11

My nails suck right now LOL.  Manicures are fine, I'm talking about my actual nails ... I love them at this length, but they don't love being this length!  I have so many tears & breaks & patches =(  I'll be cutting them down after my birthday, but I refuse to have short nails until then.  So I put on some fresh patches on Monday, and actually in pictures I can't even spot them all:

8/10 nails patched.  4 pretty serious breaks & 4 minor tears.  I just have such a hard time doing maintenance filing, because I always like them longer, but while 10-11mm might be ideal in my mind, my nails are much happier around 7-8mm.

I have an old gift-haul vid that I forgot I recorded, from when my friend de-stashed & I reaped the rewards, and I also went hauling over the weekend & picked up the China Glaze Metallic Crackles & the Ulta OPI exclusive colors, so that's what will be coming up soon, along with Zoya Jules on Mom's nails (it definitely looked much better on her) & China Glaze Starboard under Cracked Medallion which is on my nails matte-ified right now.

Thanks for reading =)

NOTD: 4th of July Rhinestone French + Tutorial

Happy 4th to all my American readers!  It's about to get hot hot HOT here again into the 90's, so as soon as I post this I think I'll be turning on the a/c =)  Nothing too special planned, but any day I don't have to go to work is a good day as far as I'm concerned.

This ended up to be my only holiday-themed mani for the 4th... time just got away from me.  I had a pink idea that I was going to do in red white & blue, but since I didn't get to it I think I'll do it in pink like I originally planned.  This was really pretty simple & didn't take as long as I thought it would, even with having to place all the rhinestones.  Base color is Wet n Wild French White with a couple layers of China Glaze White Cap on top, then I used regular slow-drying top coat to adhere the rhinestones:

Here's the tutorial:

Thanks for reading.  I know there seemed to be a lot of celebrating last night, but if you're celebrating tonight also remember to keep it safe!

NOTD: Zoya Apple + OPI Turquoise Shatter

Well, so far my holiday weekend is going great - lovely sunny weather, warm but not as hot as it was Thursday & Friday, and I just went out & had a VERY successful polish haul that I hope to share with you guys soon.  The only thing not going well is my whole plan to get caught up - comments, emails, posts, other blogs ... I feel so out of the loop right now, I don't even know what collection I should be looking forward to LOL.  Well, I still have one more day tomorrow & the rest of this evening, so I'm just going to have to get done what I can - starting with this.

Zoya Apple is a vibrant green sparkle from the Sunshine collection:

I wore it plain for a day, then I added a layer of OPI Turquoise Shatter - well, actually since the shatters overall don't play well with not fresh polish, I added another layer of Apple, then Turquoise Shatter on top of that.  I liked the results but I wish I'd stroked for a little more shatter so I had more green peeking through:

Off to edit the rest of the pics for my 4th of July mani, which I posted the vid yesterday ... I'm actually about to take it off so I may do one more holiday mani =)

Thanks for reading.
