Guest NOTD: Zoya Irene + China Glaze Flyin' High

Mom did her very first sponging - and she did do it, I didn't help her past supplying the sponge & of course the polish.  She'd already been wearing Zoya Irene for a couple of days, and decided she needed to cover up the tip wear so she sponged on China Glaze Flyin' High.  She loves it & so do I, it's a really cute combination for some reason:

I love that I've so thoroughly corrupted her LOL =)  Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Revlon Not So Blue-Berry

Some days I really do feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew.  I look at a full inbox & all the stuff I have to post & I don't know where to start.  So I'm just diving in.  Here is Revlon Not So Blue-Berry - very pretty although it's more periwinkle that blue, and I'm not sure I care for the whole scented thing.  I don't want to be sniffing polish fumes, even if it's from dry polish:

& yep, that's a failed patch in the last pic LOL.  Not actually as bad as it looks there, the patch ripped more than the actual nail ripped & I was able to repair it again.

Thanks for reading.

NOTD: China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-le + China Glaze Fault Line (& A Crackle FAIL)

I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-le:

Then I topped it with China Glaze Fault Line from the new Crackle collection.  The cracks generally go in the direction of the brush strokes, so I experimented & decided I was going to apply it at an angle.  Topcoat also made a huge difference:

I loved it!  So much in fact, I thought I'd give the Crackle polish another try.  I wanted something pale & subtle.  I used China Glaze Sci-Fi + Lightning Bolt ... and it kind of sucked IMO:

I actually took this off immediately because I disliked it so much.  Part I think was the chrome polish - it seemed like the crackle didn't want to do as much of it's thing over top ... it may not have been quite dry enough?  I'll have to experiment more sometime when I'm feeling adventurous LOL.

February Hauls

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner, I have been a little stressed out with some family business.  I meant to get more of a handle on my backlog today but since it's getting late I guess I can call that a fail LOL. 3-4 NOTDs, not to mention all the other stuff I've been putting off.  But here's what I bought in February:

I was at Claire's looking for the colors that are close dupes to some Mac colors ... I don't remember any of the names LOL but I didn't find them.  I did  however find too much bling for me to pass up:

Creatively named Glitter Top Coat & Gold Glitter Top Coat.

I somehow managed to spend enough to get a Level 3 rewards certificate at Ulta ... I didn't like any of the Level 3 rewards though, so I got a Level 1 & a Level 2:

Ulta Little Black Dress & OPI Light My Sapphire.

Luckily I had a 15% off coupon when I went to Sallys, because I damn near cleaned out their special displays LOL.  Mostly China Glaze and just one Orly that I couldn't resist:

Orly Royal Velvet, from the Precious collection; & the China Glaze Crackle collection (minus the black which was sold out):  Fault Line, Broken Hearted, Crushed Candy, Cracked Concrete & Lightning Bolt.  I decided to swatch them too - half the nail white, half black, except for the white which I did half pink.  The purple is not included because I actually did a full mani with that I will be showing you guys =)

Same trip, I also picked up the majority of the Tronica colors, and I scrounged the rest from a couple of other stores.  Here is the entire collection:

Top row:  Techno Teal, Virtual Violet, Electra Magenta, Gamer Glam, High Def, Hologram.  Bottom:  Hyper Haute, 3D Fantasy, Digital Dawn, Cyberspace, Mega Byte, & Laser Lime.  Now don't get me wrong, they're all very pretty - but this collection is nowhere near a replacement for the OMG collection.  Not even close.  I'm almost a little offended that China Glaze has the balls to call these holographic.

I got a lot of pics of these swatched with the OMG & Kaleidoscope collections - I'm going to make the comparisons a post all its own.  Should have that up tomorrow if I get all the pics edited.

Thanks for reading =)

NOTD: Extreme Green Water Marble + Tutorial

There'll be lots of green in the near future =)  Thought I might as well get started with a bang LOL.  For my Extreme Green water marble I started out with a base color of China Glaze Paper Chasing, then marbled PC, China Glaze Jolly Holly, Sally Hansen Emerald City, Savvy Andrea's Mint & China Glaze White on White:

My favorite nails - left ring, middle & index, right thumb:

And a few of my experiments - you can see what the combination would have looked like with a white base, as well as some of my other color combinations, and the other clover designs that were turning out a little too big to fit on my nail:

And of course the tutorial:

I was able to track down the final Tronica polish today!  I went to a Sally's in St. Paul that I'd never been to before & now I have them & OMG & Kaleidoscope all in neat rows on my desk getting ready for pics & swatches.  Very pretty, even if China Glaze does have such a limited color palette when they thing holo ... Tronica is not a dupe for OMG, but the colors are the same.  The same as Kaleidoscope as well with the exception of 2 colors.

Thanks for reading.
