NOTD: China Glaze Cheers to You

China Glaze Cheers to You is from their holiday collection - and if they wanted people to actually use the collection name, they should have made it shorter LOL.  This color is not exactly unique, but it's beautiful for what it is:

I think I will be doing some marbling over top of this tonight if I have time, so stay tuned for that =)  Thanks for reading.

Bachman's Holiday Idea House

We went to check out the Bachman's Holiday Idea House back on the 3rd, & I've been procrastinating on editing the pics, but I thought I better get my butt in gear & post them before Christmas is over!

We started out with lunch at their cafe, Patrick's:

They also had pastries, but we got those after the meal packaged to go, so I didn't get any pics.  Then we went across the parking lot, this house is like the old family homestead of something & they decorate it four times a year.  Although some of this stuff was ridiculously overpriced, but there were a lot of cute ideas (which I guess is the point LOL).  The outside was very decorated, although it was starting to get snow-covered as we were there:

And then of course the inside was decorated as well:

Of course I gravitated toward salt shakers filled with glitter!

Thanks for reading =)

NOTD: China Glaze Midnight Kiss + Black Crack Polish

I thought having a gold base for a crack manicure would be nice, so I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze Midnight Kiss:

Then I topped with the Black Crack Polish ... I like the effect although I still need to work on uniform application to get uniform cracks ... I actually liked how my right hand turned out better, but I realized while editing that apparently I had a spazz moment & didn't take any pics of my right LOL:

Only downside was the crack polish did not wear that great, and yet was not easy to get off - you can see the tipwear in the sun & shade pics, but I had to use 100% acetone to take it off because regular remover just wasn't cutting it at all.

Going off for part 2 of cookie day today =)  I think I'm going to do a cookie-marbling tut, so stay tuned for that!  Thanks for reading.

Cookie Day Part 1

Part 1 is making dozens & dozens of sugar cookies today with grandma =)  Part 2 will be Saturday when we get together to frost the sugar cookies & exchange whatever other cookies we all make.  I'm making fruity foldovers & apricot nectar cookies - yum!  I'm already in the spirit because yesterday was the annual dessert fest at work - basically a potluck with only sweet things =)  I made a batch of chocolate cake balls with red & green candy melt coating:

It's always such fun to see people who've never had a cake ball taste one for the first time LOL.  Almost everyone will take a bite, then look at it like, "Wow, there's CAKE inside!"  I had several people ask for the recipe as well, so I directed them to Bakerella's site.  Have you started your holiday baking yet?

If I have time when I get home I've got plans to do another Christmas tutorial =)  Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Santa Hats (w/ OPI All The Berry Best) + Tutorial

It was really hard to capture the bronzy flash of this polish ... anyone that's seen Ulta's promotional ads will know what I'm talking about, the pics they had in there were very misleading I think - this is still a nice red of course, but in the promotion it looks almost duo-chrome & it's not.  OPI All The Berry Best:

I wore it solo for a day, then I finally got around to executing my Santa Hat idea =)  I used China Glaze Short & Sassy, Wet 'n' Wild French White, and some loose glitter from Michaels:

Here's the tutorial:

Are you ready for Christmas?  You'd think with all the snow I would be, but we don't have a tree up yet ... but I did do my first batch of "cookies" - a load of cake balls for the annual dessert pot luck at work =)  Thanks for reading.
