NOTD: RBL Mismas

So, I changed my mani mainly because much though I loved the matte Extravagance, there's only so much matte I can take. But then I didn't know what to put on ... I decided to go basic, and what's more basic (for me, I mean) than purple? I pulled out Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas, and it went on lovely & I'm very sorry I didn't take any pics to show you from before I ruined it.

Well, maybe that's an exaggeration. But after I finished, I thought, "Oh, maybe just a little Konad" & my hand went to the Psyche Pink Princess polish, and my hand reached for plate m36 ... and soon the pure purple beauty of Mismas was marred:

So, I'm kind of irritated with myself, because I've done this before & I know better. This ended up reminding me of wallpaper or something, which is not always bad, but is definitely not good in this case. Bleh.

A better NOTD coming for you tomorrow: an oldie but a goodie, and the only hint is that it's a Misa color. Stay tuned =)

Thanks for reading.

NOTD: Extravagance Matte-ified

Now, I've said before I'm not huge into matte. And I'm still not. But I'll say that it does have a time & place - and that I'm very likely going to need another bottle of Matte Magic. I used MM on yesterday's OPI DS Extravagance after I stamped some Konad with Black Special polish & plate m64, and it turned out just like in my head - awesome. Here it is just after Konad:

I like the way the pattern double-stamp ended up on the ring & index fingers, flows a little better than the middle finger. But overall I think this design lends itself well to long nails, even if you don't do a 2nd image.

But wait! Cool as that is, here are the shots after Matte Magic, the real awesomeness:

The sun & overcast pics were taken after work, so there is a bit of glossy tipwear, but not too bad. It had a weird feel to it, when I'd touch my nails over the course of the day, but kind of cool. If you've never worn matte, it's still smooth, but it's not exactly as slick-feeling as glossy. Kind of like a chalkboard.

I am currently actually regretting taking this off, because I am not in love with my new mani. I didn't realize until after I had naked nails that I had no plan of what to do with them. I'll share my mini-disaster with you guys tomorrow night =)

Halloween Treats =)

Nothing, super-fancy, only super-delicious =P If you've not yet heard of Bakerella or cake balls, well, let me introduce you to the concept:

Sorry you all can't just reach in your monitor & grab one (or 2!) =) These have a dark chocolate cake + cream cheese frosting center, and the candy melts I flavored with orange oil. Did I mention YUM? And the reactions & looks on people's face at work today were priceless.

"Would you like a cake ball?"
"What's a cake ball?!"
*bite*

*eyes goggle*
*cake ball dissapears*

NOTD: OPI DS Extravagance

So, after all that nail art, a mani that I didn't need to do anything extra to LOL. Not a strong holo, it just adds that little bit of extra bling & depth. OPI Designer Series Extravagance:

NOTD: Misa Dreamy Purple w/ Marble Half-Moon

I feel like I've been holding out on you guys, LOL, I did this Thursday night & am only now getting around to posting. I used these 3 Misa colors:

Misa Dreamy Purple was my base color, then I used Forbidden Lust & Push Upon It for the marbling. Misa polish is available through their website, or several e-tailers also.

It turned out more subtle than I thought from just looking at them, but it actually ended up showing better in pics, because the camera turned Dreamy Purple into more of a navy in some of these ... Just trust me when I saw it's very purple, and indeed dreamy:

I posted link to a tutorial showing how to do this marbling technique in my Spiderweb Mani post, this is the 3rd mani in the row using int =) I think I will switch it up a little next manicure but I haven't decided how yet.
