NOTD: Wet n Wild Ocean Grotto Funky French

I thought about titling this "Nubbins Mani #1" to see at what exact point I stop thinking about them as nubbins LOL, but I decided to refrain.  Mom said she thought the french tips made them look even shorter but I actually think a french makes nails look longer, and I prefer it when my nails are short,.  A french just start to look weird when the tip is the same size as the bed of the nail LOL.  So after a certain point in length I stop wearing them much.

This was 3 coats of Wet n Wild Ocean Grotto, then I freehanded the tips with WnW Black Creme, then one more coat of OG to give the tips some shimmer.  It looked green in the bottle, more yellow on the nail, but when I put it next to my green dress it matched.  So I'm not sure what color to call it:

Green or yellow or somewhere in between, I quite like how it turned out =)  Thanks for reading.

Guest NOTD: Wet n Wild Bird Bath + Sally Hansen Ink Splatter

Here's Mom's first crackle manicure - done with Wet n Wild Bird Bath + Sally Hansen Ink Splatter:

I think she said her favorite nails was the thumb, although I don't remember if it was this thumb or the other - she had a lot of fun wearing this.  I think she's hooked on the crack polish just like me now =)

NOTD: 4th of July Rhinestone French + Tutorial

Happy 4th to all my American readers!  It's about to get hot hot HOT here again into the 90's, so as soon as I post this I think I'll be turning on the a/c =)  Nothing too special planned, but any day I don't have to go to work is a good day as far as I'm concerned.

This ended up to be my only holiday-themed mani for the 4th... time just got away from me.  I had a pink idea that I was going to do in red white & blue, but since I didn't get to it I think I'll do it in pink like I originally planned.  This was really pretty simple & didn't take as long as I thought it would, even with having to place all the rhinestones.  Base color is Wet n Wild French White with a couple layers of China Glaze White Cap on top, then I used regular slow-drying top coat to adhere the rhinestones:

Here's the tutorial:

Thanks for reading.  I know there seemed to be a lot of celebrating last night, but if you're celebrating tonight also remember to keep it safe!

NOTD: Outrageously Orange Water Marble - Addicted to Color Series

When I was planning this color in the series, the working title was "Orange-gasm" - right up to the point that I actually started experimenting with the different polishes.  And then I was about ready to pull out my hair ... I definitely was not left with a warm fuzzy feeling LOL.  It was outrageously difficult finding 5 colors that worked together & out of all the new oranges that I've recently purchased, I was only able to use one of them, the rest just wouldn't cooperate.

The colors I finally ended up using were Wet  n Wild Magic Trident, China Glaze Sun Worshipper, Orly Orange Punch, China Glaze Free Love & China Glaze Street Racing:

A lineup of the bottles:

My favorite nails:  left thumb & middle, right ring & pointer:

And the tutorial:

I went with orange because it won by just a little bit in my informal poll =)  Yellow was very close though, and will be upcoming soon.  Thanks for reading.

Drugstore Hauls

This is all the result of a failed mission - a search for the yellow Sally Hansen Hard as Nails that they show in the display picture.  I did find the display a few times, and picked up some other colors, but the yellow eluded me.

These were from the first Walgreens that I hit:

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Pumping Iron, Frozen Solid, Sturdy Sapphire, Unbreakable Heart & Hard to Get.  Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Ink Splatter, Fractured Foil & Antiqued Gold.  Sinful Unicorn & Let's Meet.

These came from a couple of CVS's:

Wet n Wild top: Collecting Pollen, Bird Bath & Sunburst.  Bottom:  Ocean Grotto, Waves of Enchantment & Magic Trident.

Ulta, I had to stop & pick up a gift card also:

L'Oreal Pink Shells from the Summer Siren collection.

I really don't remember if this batch was a Walgreens or a CVS:

Revlon Black With Envy, Tangerine, Blue Lagoon & Sunshine Sparkle.  Sally Hansen HD Digital, Three D, Lite, Hi-Def & Cyber.

And finally Sallys, because a free bottle of China Glaze is too good to pass up:

Finger Paints Chrysanthe-Mum's The Word, Outta Sight Orange, Psychedelic Sunshine, Prints & Printsess & China Glaze Reggae to Riches.

I decided that it's time for a no-buy ... I don't really think I've enforced one in a very long time, but I've really been buying a lot of polish lately.  Here's the vid:

NOTD: Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy

The only real downside to Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy is that it starts out very sheer - I needed 4 coats to get it opaque, but boy was it ever worth it =)  Silver, purple, green, one of the nicest duo-chromes that I've worn in a while:

Here's a look in motion:

It's very close to OPI Not Like the Movies, from the Katy Perry collection, but they're not dupes - GA is more purple, and NLtM has some little tiny sparkles in it that as you can see at one coat - NLtM on the left, GA on the right:

In this pic, I used 4 coats for both - NLtM is also quite sheer:

NOTD: The Evolution of Claire's Sparkle

Yes LOL, another polish that went through a life cycle.  I think it took 4 or maybe 5 coats to get Claire's Sparkle opaque on it's own:

And then I decided I didn't like it.  I know, right?  At least 11:00 at night, even a little later I guess because the next set of pics ended up in the next day's folder - I put down a layer of Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme, and then another single layer of the glitter:

I wore it like that for a day, but my favorite was actually the final incarnation, with Matte Magic on top:

Which version is your favorite?  Thanks for reading.

PS - my room is a disaster area, and so is my email inbox (among other things).  I'm going to take a serious stab this weekend at getting stuff under control ... I know I've said it before LOL, but I'm not giving up trying yet =)
