NOTD: Icing Purple Rain

I don't totally agree with this name, since it's more lavender than purple, maybe it could have been called Lavender Lightning, but in real life this Icing polish is called Purple Rain. It is pretty sheer, this is 4 coats & if I'd been wearing it alone I think the VNL would irritate me no end.

Since I was planning to cover it mostly with Konad, I didn't worry too much. But, the problem is my Purple Pearl Princess Polish. And I dare you to say that 5 times fast =) I forgot how crappy this polish actually is. The issue I have, and have always had with it, is that it doesn't come off of the stamper very well. The first stamp or 2 are fine, then no matter if I clean or don't clean or what I do, the image transfers lighter & lighter. I'm including a look at my left where you can really see what I'm talking about:

Also, I wandered over to Brooke's Blog & saw her using a better plaid image (from plate m60). I thought I'd give that a try ... bad idea. Another semi-failed mani coming tomorrow I'm afraid.

Thanks for reading.

2x Toes

Sooo.... I somehow managed to get really behind with stuff I wanted to post, and I'm going to try & remedy the situation here. To think I used to worry I wouldn't have enough to post about LOL.

First up are 2 pedicures ... 1st one barely counts, because I took it off immediately, it was ugly plus it wouldn't dry right, it got all gummy & gross even with topcoat, and I decided to change it. Fingerpaints Spark My Interest was sill watery & transparent after 4 coats, so I tried to "fix" it with NYX Girls CN228:

The replacement pedi is Icing Purple Pjs & is obviously like 50 times better. I realized I had no pics when I started writing this post, so I quickly took a few ... so please excuse both the tipwear & the sock lint:

Sigh, too bad it's no longer sandal season to show off this nice dark purple. Thanks for reading.

TOTD: Icing My Blue Heaven

Something about this was really nice application - usually I have a hell of a time with my toes, keeping polish from pooling at the cuticle, but I'm pretty pleased with this. Also goes really well with the mani. Here is Icing, My Blue Heaven:

Darker than I've had on my toes the past few pedis, but I'm digging it =) Thanks for reading.

Sunday Post-A-Thon: The Hauls

So, if I go by location, a total of 6 hauls last weekend, which took me over a week in some cases to post ... but really, a couple of them only involved 1 or 2 bottles, and I probably wouldn't count them as a haul if they weren't with the whole pack ... anyway, lots of good colors, here we go:

Top row: Maurice's Double Dutch. I'd never heard of this brand before, but mom picked it up at a church sale for me. Middle row: Big Lots ... thing with these Dark Pleasures is you can't see the name when they're packaged, since it's on the back, only the number on the top, so I ended up getting 2 new ones & 2 I already had that will go in the franken box that I hope one day I'll actually get around to playing with LOL. Scarlet Letter & Steel-etto, my dupes, and then the new ones Patent Leather & Purple Pleasures. Bottom row is from Target clearance: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear n Flirt, Black Out & Petie Pink, amd Maybelline Tutu Tango.

Then, last Monday, Lachelle left me a comment on my Exclusive NOTD post that she'd seen OPI DS polishes on sale at Trade Secret for only $5.00, and I decided a trip to the mall was in order:

Top row is DS Fantasy which I did indeed pick up at Trade Secret for only 5 bucks! Thanks Lachelle! I had seen this color at Cub foods, resisted because I was on a no-buy, and then when I decided to give in it was gone! So I'm glad to finally pick it up. Second Row is from Claire's: Jen Jen & Magic. Bottom Row is from Icing: Purple PJ's, Purple Rain, Roger That & Laura's Fave (featured last post as my NOTD).

So, that's the haul portion of the post-a-thon. Thanks for reading & stay tuned because I'm not done yet =)

Sunday Post-A-Thon: The Nails

So, I thought I'd get some of this done Friday evening, but T came & kidnapped me for drinks, then I thought I'd post on Saturday & she came & kidnapped me again! So I'm going to make this a Sunday post-a-thon & try to get caught up on all that I've been procrastinating on. I will start - of course - with the nails.

This NOTD is from a few days ago, from my recent haul (pics of which are forthcoming), Icing Laura's Fave Konied with Misa Toxic Seduction & plate m56:

I also have a guest NOTD, my mom, who I've finally convinced to wear blue polish! Yay! This is Nina Ultra Pro In A Tiff:

So, now I've got the nails out of the way, on to the other stuff =) Stay tuned & thanks for reading.

Icing NOTD

So, I literally could not wait to wear this polish. It was hard to capture properly in a pic but taken all together these come close. And there's plenty of them since I ♥ Icing Blackout. I highly recommend clicking to enlarge & see the true beauty of this polish:

This is from my haul just this past weekend, as soon as I got it I kind of knew that it would be my next mani. I literally had to run outside to catch the 5 mins of sun that was all to be had all day long here, but it was worth it for the pics.

Thanks for reading.

Another Haul

It was an accident. Kind of. I was at the mall & happened to go by a Claire's, and they're having a buy one get one 50% off sale on their cosmetics. So I had to get a couple bottles of polish ... well, more than a couple, and then I went over to Icing & got a couple more:

Top row left to right: Icing Blackout & My Blue Heaven, Clair's Shine, Rock & Lulu Belle. Bottom row left to right: Green Neon, Sparkle, Rockstar, Dragonfly & Pink Rose.

Combined with yesterday's haul, this should tide me over for a while ... thanks for reading.
