NOTD: ChG Kaleidoscope Him Out

Well, another sunny day & a holo to go along with it =) Excuse my index finger, I had another break (right through the existing patch) right before I was going to do my nails, and it's one of the sloppier patches I've ever done. So you can see it quite clearly in a few of the pics. From the Kaleidoscope Collection this time, which is a little chunkier of a holo compared to the OMG Collection, Kaleidoscope Him Out:

NOTD: ChG IDK

Another classic holo from China Glaze's OMG Collection. I feel guilty when I see how many are still in my unworn mountain, I think I still have half of the collection to wear, and at least half of the Kaleidoscopes. But I'm working on it. I even got some sun today, to catch this in all it's holo glory. This is IDK:

NOTD: ChG Millennium

The formula on this lovely from the Glitters & Chromes collection is great, better than it was on Twenty-Four K. This reminds me a lot of the Romantiques, it was just about opaque in 1 coat & I will be trying it with Konad the next time I need a silver =) China Glaze Millennium, Konad done with Black Special Polish & plate m65:

I saw this kind of corner placement with a full nail design over at Charming Nails & pretty much immediately wanted to give it a try & I love how it came out! Thanks for reading.

Naked Nails Update

I know it's a little early for my monthly naked nails series, but I've been kind of very dissatisfied with them lately & wanted to vent a little & talk about it.

I go back & forth between wanting to keep my length at any cost & just cutting them all down & starting from scratch ... you can see which little voice has won so far LOL. The patches irritate me no end - but at the end of the day, they're really not THAT much of a hassle, and if I do a really good job I've had a set last a full month without needing to be changed ... but lately I seem to be doing a crappy job, or else wearing stuff (like glitter) that requires so much extra polish remover that it makes the patches wear poorly. I really don't like having to change them once a week.

Here they are in fully naked "glory" ... click to enlarge & you can see the peeling I still have & all of the splits I'm dealing with right now =( It seems like every nail I've had with a bend in it, where it's finally starting to grow straight it tears.:

Here they are after being patched to within an inch of their lives ... 7 of 10 nails sporting Swiss Silk wraps & & IBD gel resin glue:

So you see, by no means do I have perfect nails ... I'm just stubborn =)

Also, I also like the questions that usually come up when I post naked nails ... I'm not the ultimate authority, but I enjoy the chance to share what I do know & what works for me, so if you have any nail-care questions, please feel free to comment or email & I'll do my best to help out. Thanks for reading.

TOTD: Blue again

Sandal season is just about over, but I'm going to make an effort to not neglect my feet this winter, so I'll still have pedis coming on probably about a weekly basis. This is Savvy Electric Blue:

I don't see Savvy polishes very often on other blogs, but I like the few that I have. They're sold at Sally's, if you're interested in getting some of your own. Thanks for reading.

NOTD: OPI DS Fantasy

I originally saw this polish at my grocery store on a day I happened to be exercising restraint ... the next time I went, ready to splurge, it was GONE. Argh! Thus was born a lemming. I intended to order it online, I saw it was in stock - right up until I placed my order, when it disappeared from availability! I was dejected. I was giving up hope... and then I found it on clearance at a Trade Secret =)

So, that's the story behind this particular polish ... strange how some polishes develop their own little histories & memories that they trigger. From the OPI Designer Series, Fantasy - Konad done with China Glaze Devotion & plate m40:

This is not as bling-holo as some of the other DS polishes, but it does have a subtle holo to it in the right lighting - seen best above in the sun pic on the bottle (click to enlarge). But even when the holo is not super-visible, this is a really nice dark blue, dark while still very obviously blue - I had one lady at work today grab my hand and say something like "that is BLUE girl!" which was kind of cool LOL. NOTD: $OPI Domestic Goddess

After so much glitter, I decided to go a little more subdued ... not to mention the fact that this was so much easier to remove =) Now of course, since this is a purple it was impossible to photograph correctly ... it's much pinker than it reads in the natural lamp pic, but not as pink as the camera flash shows. It's kind of in between how it looks shade vs. sun ... which leads me to mention, it's getting to be the time of year I probably often will be unable to continue providing sun pics. It's getting dark earlier, not to mention the clouds, and soon it's going to be cold enough to dissuade me from taking pics outdoors. Still, I really got the last little dribble of sun for today pics =) Here is Sephora by OPI Domestic Goddess, Konad done with China Glaza LOL & plate m72:

For all you other ladies out there with long nails, if you don't have this plate I recommend picking it up because this pattern is so nice & random that it's really easy to double-stamp, I didn't even really bother to try & line anything up.

Thanks for reading.

NOTD: ChG Twenty-Four K + Medallion

It's my last day of vacation before I have to go back to work ... so I've been kind of lazy, and have every intention of fitting in one more nap, but I wanted to get pics in before that. Both from the China Glaze Glitters & Chromes collection, base is Twenty-Four K, angled tips done in Medallion:

Still bling, but won't be so bad to remove as full glitter LOL. Thanks for reading.
